Report: Israel to revoke ‘red’ country list today, lifting ban on travel to US and UK
Israel will later today revoke the list of high-infection “red” countries that Israelis are prohibited from flying to and from which foreigners cannot enter the country, according to an unsubstantiated report by the Thirteenth Channel.
The list was compiled to slow the arrival of the Omicron strain in Israel, but due to the major Omicron outbreak in the country, authorities consider travel bans obsolete.
The list has already been shortened considerably, but it still includes key destinations such as the United States, Great Britain, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Switzerland.
