Rajshahi University 2020 Model United Nations


Rajshahi Model United Nations University 2020 was held at the premises of Rajshahi University (UK). The four-day conference took place from November 25-28, 2021. This time, the theme of this MUN conference is “Fostering the Culture of Innovation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution”.

The Rajshahi University Model United Nations Association (RUMUNA) hosted the conference for the sixth time and this time it is dedicating the event to the centenary of the Mujib. The grand opening took place at the Engineering Faculty Gallery of the MA Wazed Miah University Building. Professor Shah Azam Shantanu, Department of Marketing, Rajshahi University, and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Bharti, Deputy High Commissioner of India were respectively the main and special guests of the conference. The Deputy Indian High Commissioner said at the ceremony: “It is certainly a great platform for students to practice versatile cultures and improve further. I am happy to be here today and I hope that the next conference will be a great success for his institution. ‘

This year’s model United Nations conference was organized with a total of 6 committees. The committees are the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Atlantic Treaty Organization North (NATO), the Specialized Committee for Bangladesh Affairs (SCBA) and the International Press (IP). The agendas of each committee were decided keeping in mind the main theme this time. This year’s topics were created with students in mind so that they might be more interested in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The committees will take place at Jagadish Chandra Bose Bhaban, Syed Ismail Hossain Siraji Bhaban, Rabindranath Tagore kola Bhaban, Deans Complex and TSCC Bhaban from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. About 300 students from around 50 educational institutions in Bangladesh will attend the conference as representatives from different countries.
