Latvia’s list of “white” countries remains unchanged from last week / Article
The Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC) updated its statistics on October 30, determining that in the future, self-isolation will be required when entering Latvia from countries with a 14-day cumulative COVID-19 incidence rate per 100,000 population above 121.7.
COVID19 30oct Quarantine List
As a result, it is now possible to enter Latvia from countries with a lower infection rate than Latvia without needing 10 days of self-isolation. The European countries which qualify for this “white list” are still Greece, Norway, Estonia and Finland, just like last week.
Other non-European countries on the “white list” include Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Rwanda, Uruguay, Thailand and Singapore.
The list and self-isolation requirements are effective October 31 at 12:00 a.m. The ban on passenger transport comes into effect on the third day following the publication of the list, on November 2.
SPKC specialists recommend that you think carefully about the need to travel abroad, assess the risks and avoid exposing yourself and others to the risk of infection.
As COVID-19 infection rates continue to rise across much of Europe, almost all European countries are now on the “red list” of countries to which a visit is strongly discouraged. All Red List countries require ten days of self-isolation.
International passenger transport is only allowed to European countries where the cumulative incidence rate does not exceed double the EU average. Nine countries are prohibited for passenger carriers.
The full list of countries is available on the SPKC website, in English, Latvian and Russian, along with advice on how to follow the self-isolation rules and conditions that apply to all people, which they are of Latvian nationality or of other nationalities.
